Building A Framework for the PV-SuCCESS Program

Press play now to listen in as MTERA and the Great Plains Institute dive into a conversation about the Photovoltaics Supporting Cultural and Community EcoSystem Services (PV-SuCCESS) program.

As part of the PV-SuCCESS project, we are developing a framework to integrate environmental and social considerations of solar site selection, design, and management. This framework will provide guidance to weigh the costs and benefits of solar developments. By integrating biophysical attributes (e.g., impacts on water quality, soil health, and biodiversity) and sociocultural values (e.g., sense of place, visual character, and spiritual significance), the framework aims to support sustainable and inclusive decision-making about solar development.

This meeting was hosted to gather feedback on the factors that this framework should consider, what would make it user-friendly and accessible, and how we can best engage with you and your Tribal communities as we continue to develop the framework and associated tools to support solar land-use decisions.
